Procedure to update The7 v3 and v4 to The7 v7<\/p>\n

Important!<\/strong>\u00a0Please make a DB\u00a0backup<\/a>\u00a0of your installation, then follow this:<\/p>\n

  1. Download the latest copy of the theme from ThemeForest.<\/li>\n
  2. Rename the old theme folder to \/dt-the7-old\/ and\u00a0install<\/a>\u00a0The7 v.7 as you do with any other new theme.<\/li>\n
  3. Make sure you use compatible WordPress version and update it if it is required. The supported WordPress version can be found on theme\u00a0ThemeForest page.<\/li>\n
  4. Before activating The7 theme, deactivate all bundled plugins, older version of those plugins might conflict with the new version of theme.<\/li>\n
  5. Delete \u201cWPBakery Page Builder\u201d plugin (you will install it again later).<\/li>\n
  6. After The7 v.7 activation,\u00a0register\u00a0<\/a>yor theme and update plugins in Dashboard -> The7 -> Plugins.<\/li>\n
  7. Install and activate \u201cThe7 Elements\u201d plugin, if necessary.<\/li>\n
  8. Go to Dashboard -> The7 -> My The7 -> Settings and make sure required post types are enabled.<\/li>\n
  9. Go to The7 -> Plugins, install and activate \u201cThe7 WPBakery Page Builder\u201d plugin.<\/li>\n
  10. Configure WPBakery<\/a><\/li>\n
  11. Your layout may be different now, and even look broken. It\u2019s because new theme has a lot of new settings that have to be set now. Go to Theme Options<\/strong>, and review your settings, all of new settings have to be reviewed and set.<\/li>\n
  12. If you have a cache plugin, empty its cache.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
